The People of SCREG: Dale Loftis

Dale Loftis has been with the SCREG since 2009 and has been helping people buy and sell homes in Fort Mill, Tega Cay, and all around the Charlotte area since 2003. He’s lived in Fort Mill since 2001 with his wife and two sons.  “To me, everything starts at home.  Whether it’s finding a new home for a new chapter in life, or selling the home from the current chapter, everything starts with the right home.”  Dale spends his spare time with family and friends at home, or on the lake, and with two boys, lots of time on little league ball fields!  Here’s what one of Dale’s many past clients had to say about him:

My realtor, Dale Loftis, was referred to me and I had the absolute best experience! He took me and my family on as a client despite the fact we were outside his area and I think I know why. Most likely because Dale is an ABOVE AND BEYOND realtor in so many ways. Very good at his job, intelligent, knowledgeable, informative, patient, and simply amazing. How can one referred for such a reputation, put that reputation in the hands of another referral? Thank you Dale! You really were incredible and your attention to the process was very appreciated. -Nate F. via Yelp

How long have you been with the SCREG?

Wow does time fly! I’m the longest tenured agent on the team, almost 10 years now. It’s been amazing to see our growth from 6 or 7 people back in 2009 to 36 team members now in 2018.

How did you hear about the Stephen Cooley Real Estate Group?

I’ve known Stephen since 2003, he and I were both with Coldwell Banker Stepp-Tuttle at the time, it wasn’t the SCREG yet, he hadn’t really started a team yet! It was Stephen, and his wonderful listing coordinator, Debbie Vaughn (she is still with the group, and may be the sweetest woman on earth).

What’s your favorite thing about being a part of this agent group?

That’s easy…TEAMWORK! Stephen, all agents, all staff, our only goal is to make our client’s goals get accomplished. That can be to sell their home for as much money as possible, or as quickly as possible, or to help find a dream home, or a first home, whatever that goal may be, as a team, we can get more accomplished much faster and with better service than any one of us could individually.

What makes the Greater Charlotte area a great place to live?

I lived in Charlotte from 1997 to 2001, and Fort Mill SC ever since. The area has so much to offer! You get to experience all four seasons, 3 hours to the beach, 3 hours to the mountains, pro sports teams, employment opportunities…culture, diverse dining, all kinds of recreation, the people are friendly, the traffic isn’t as bad as some other places (Atlanta). My wife and I decided to raise our family in Fort Mill in 2000, best decision we ever made.

When you’re not busy helping your clients, what do you do in your spare time?

I have a wonderful family, my wife and two sons (18 and 9 years old) keep me busy. Our extended family (2 nieces, 4 nephews, and all the in-laws) keep us busy all the time, we are so fortunate to have such a great relationship with everyone and they are all within 45 minutes from our house. Pool parties, boating on Lake Wylie, BBQ, the Panthers. Love trying new restaurants, or just going back to the ones we know we love.

How do you balance life as a dad and full time real estate agent?

It’s not that hard, I let my clients know up front the hours I work (Monday – Friday 8a to 6p and by appointment on Saturday). That’s about 55 available hours to help clients, they understand my job as a Dad, and we are able to work through any scheduling issues with ease. Another advantage to being part of a team is on occasion, I need a teammate to help me with a showing, or inspection, or whatever, and it’s never hard to find someone to help!

For 2018, what are you most excited about in the real estate market?

In 2018, I’m excited that we are in an appreciating market for our seller’s. They will be able to make a move, get money out of their home for their next home, or whatever they may need. For our buyer’s, interest rates are still around 5% (seems high for now, but it’s still historically low actually), so home affordability still makes buying much more attractive than renting. It’s truly a great time to buy & sell a home. It’s always great when all parties at the closing table are happy!
