I am a mom to three beautiful children: two teenagers and an 11-year-old. I have been married for almost 16 years. My husband is a Lt. Colonel in the Air National Guard, and we have traveled all over the world. Before getting into real estate, I was an airplane accident investigator while also working towards becoming a flight instructor. Life, kids and the military changed our plans, and I needed a career that would allow me to be home with the kids during my husband’s deployments. We started renovating and renting out properties in 2008, and I loved everything about the real estate world. Once my kids were older, I knew getting my real estate license was the next step.
How long have you been with the SCREG?

How did you hear about the Stephen Cooley Real Estate Group?
I researched for months to find a good fit for me. I met with over ten different agencies, and I wasn’t overly excited about any of them. I had heard of the Stephen Cooley Real Estate Group and was impressed with their advertising. Once I started doing my research and met the team, I knew it was the perfect fit for me.
What’s your favorite thing about being a part of this agent group?
It is a family, and everyone here wants to see each other succeed. We encourage and lift each other up daily. None of us would be the experts that we are without the ability to learn and grow together.
What makes the Greater Charlotte area a great place to live?
The amazing weather and all of the outdoor activities offered. We love spending time outside whether it’s running trails or drinking a craft beer at one of the many local breweries. There are so many different ways to enjoy the Carolina blue skies. I also love that you are not restricted to just one school. My kids are completely different and learn in totally different ways. My youngest son has Asperger’s and finding him a school that offered small class sizes and one on one instruction was vital. While my oldest needed advanced classes and a big swimming program, so all of kids attend different schools. Here you can find schools specializing in Engineering or Arts and even Language Immersion.
Are you from Charlotte or the surrounding area?
If not, tell us where you’re from and how you came to Charlotte. I’m originally from Pittsburgh. My husband’s job moved us here about eight years ago.
Do you have any hobbies?
If so, what are they? Everything aviation related! I have my commercial license and instrument multi-engine rating. I also enjoy free diving, sea kayaking and traveling with my kids and husband.
For 2019, what are you most excited about in the real estate market?
More jobs in the area mean more and more people are relocating. Interest rates are still low, and it’s going to be a great time to buy. I’m looking forward to finding my buyers the perfect home.
