The People of SCREG: Sharon Salisbury

Sharon Salisbury truly exudes what SCREG is all about – a work, life balance. She wears many hats including real estate agent, mentor, mom and volunteer just to name a few. She has many years of real estate experience under her belt and is a leader in our Fort Mill office. She’s helped hundreds of families over the years buy and sell their homes, check out what one of her clients had to say about her:

Since this was my first home. I knew very little about what to expect. I was very LUCKY to have had SHARON SALISBURY by my side. Not only to hear her voice every Tuesday. Lol To calm and guide me. But with her grace and patience (with my crazy) and her knowledge. I’m so happy I had her on my side! She will be my agent on my next home! -Jennifer Malzahn, Facebook

What drew you to Real Estate as a career?

My best friends mom was a Realtor and I always thought she was amazing from the time I was a very little girl.  A seed was planted that I wanted to do what she did of helping people own a home.  Years later, I received my college degree in Marketing knowing I loved working with people and wanted to continue in a field of business.  After college I worked a few years in corporate marketing, but the passion to become a Realtor only continued to grow.  Through encouragement of family and friends I took the leap of faith, and entered into Real Estate.  One of my best decisions.

How long have you been with the SCREG?

I have been with the Stephen Cooley Real Estate Group since May 2013 (5 years).

How did you hear about the Stephen Cooley Real Estate Group?

I was with Keller Williams Realty the 11 years I have been in real estate, and Stephen Cooley was one of my mentor’s I looked up to in the Keller Williams office.  I always wanted to be on the team from the moment I met him with Keller Williams.  It was only a matter of timing being right 🙂

What’s your favorite thing about being a part of this agent group?

SO many things to choose from…having one of the best Realtors in the world work side be side with you and your clients, the AMAZING staff and team support and help, the opportunity to grow your business and the incredible team goals that challenge yourself to become the absolute best professional in the industry, the teams charity and community support to nonprofits in the area, and the culture and integrity the team embodies and upholds.

What makes the Greater Charlotte area a great place to live?

There are very few places in America where you have the world at your fingertips (or drive) with you in control of how much you want to experience.  With cities like Rock Hill, Fort Mill, or Lake Wylie as suburbs to the largest city in the state (Charlotte) you have the best of both worlds, you can feel like you are in the country one min, and ten minute drive later be in a sea of skyscrapers.

When you’re not busy helping your clients, what do you do in your spare time?

Spare time is a word used lightly, HA!  My family of 3 kids and husband keep me going in all directions between school sports, youth, academics, and Crossfit (hubby owns a local Crossfit box).  I volunteer and serve as a youth leader in my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  I help plan and volunteer at a camp every summer for a week for all girls (12-18yrs), to help bring them closer to nature and God.  I love anything on the water, and Lake Wylie living.  I try to squeeze a little travel when possible to new places around the World.  I’m an active member of the American Legion (almost 20 years!)

How do you balance life as a mom and full time real estate agent?

One minute at a time.  I have become very good at time blocking and managing my time to the fullest, but also couldn’t do it without the constant help of family, friends, and coworkers.  Sometimes surprises happen, and when they do, I have to prioritize what needs me most at that minute and then rely on help from others.  I’m a true believer in the saying “it takes a village to raise a child” and that is one of the reason’s I feel it is so important to get to know your community, to give back to those around you, and to appreciate sometimes being both at the same time.

For 2018, what are you most excited about in the real estate market?

Every morning I wake up not knowing what my day might unfold, and I love that!  But what I am most excited about for 2018 is that next family who I will be able to help own a home for the first time.  Or the next person who is about to sell their first home to start a new adventure…I love thinking about who it will be next that I will help with one of the biggest decisions they will make in their life.
