Waxhaw, NC Real Estate

Waxhaw, NC is vibrant town full of unique character and history! It was founded originally by Native American’s called ‘Wysacky’ or ‘The Waxhaws.’ When the railroad arrived in the 1800’s, the town began to prosper as the tracks were laid through the middle of town and those tracks are still there today. In the early 1900’s Waxhaw became a hub for textiles and cotton manufacturing. Today, Waxhaw has adapted to textiles and cotton moving on to being manufactured elsewhere and now it’s downtown area is marketed as a historical town that offers antiquing, shopping and restaurants. The town officials are constantly working to improve their town by adding a park, skate park for youth and moving forward with new housing.

Although Waxhaw isn’t a large city it is home to some great schools that include 9 Elementary Schools, 3 Middle Schools and 5 High Schools. There is also an abundance of private and Charter Schools to choose from as well such as Arborbrook Christian Academy, Moni Montessori School, Union Day Charter School and Apprentice Academy of NC.
