In order to be closer to our grandchildren, my wife, Lou, and I sold our home in Florida and our condo in North Carolina so we could buy a home in the Mooresville, just north of Charlotte, NC. Over the last year or so, Michele Teague had occasionally taken the time to show Lou around the neighborhoods of Mooresville so she could get a better understanding of what was available in the area. She did this knowing that we were not yet ready to buy, and we appreciated her attention. Now, when it was time for us to seriously consider buying, she threw herself into finding us options all over Mooresville and nearby Cornelius. We came close to buying three times, but each time we either changed our minds or we were beat to the punch by somebody else. Each time there was paperwork to be done by Robin Hancock. There was never any complaint as each deal fell through. They both just took it as part of the journey. It all paid off when one of the homes we lost out on came back on the market. I was introduced to Kendall Kerr through my boss and I must say she is AMAZING!! My husband and I have been wanting to buy a home for a long time and have met a few agents along the way, but never followed up with us after the initial consultation. On a random Thursday in September I was sent a group text introducing me to Kendall out of nowhere. Once we had a brief phone consultation, she immediately shared a mortgage broker, Bill Kalmar’s, contact info with me within an hour. I am a first-time homeowner who started my home search on Zillow in the Summer of 2024. When I was ready to view properties, Zillow matched me with Sarah Loftis, the most outstanding real estate agent I could've asked for. When I was initially browsing, my schedule was slammed. She waited patiently for things to calm down and was sure to check on me periodically, not as an agent who was trying to get a sale from a client but as a human who cared about another human. Words cannot express how much that meant to me. When things calmed down, we started looking together. We saw probably eight to twelve properties together in total. Sarah was knowledgeable about each of the listings, the market, HOAs, etc. When she didn't know the answer, she would reach out to a colleague or partner to find the answer. When I finally found the property that I thought was THE ONE, we had a big snafu with the lender from which I obtained my preapproval, which made us return to the drawing board and find another property. I WAS DEVASTATED and honestly wanted to give up. Sarah demonstrated empathy during this challenging time and allowed me a few days to grieve before making recommendations that ultimately changed my home-buying journey trajectory.
